Users reported that changing the date manually on iPhone smartphones and iPad, and return it to the January 1, 1970, will lead to brick it and make it stop after the re-start at the white screen with Apple logo, and so permanently.
Users who have changed the settings to this date confirmed that the restoration using iTunes have not succeeded in repairing software flaw in the time and date settings in the iOS system.
This flaw affects all iPhone and iPad and iPod Touch, which includes processor 64 bit which work with eighth or ninth version of iOS system, which means that the flaw affects iphone 5s and beyond, and iPad Air, ipad mini 2, and the sixth generation of the iPod Touch.
Has not yet confirm the exact cause of this problem, however guesses suggest that the reason is due to the way storage in the iOS system formats of time and date, which means that the date of January 1, 1970 is stored as a value of 0 or smaller than 0, and thus lead to the failure of any other process that requires timestamp.
