LG will officially announce its first flagship of 2016, the G5 on February 21 in Barcelona. The company has confirmed that the G5 will have an Always ON display, while case maker Spigen's teaser for the G5 confirmed dual-camera setup and fingerprint sensor for the flagship. LG also launched a touch-enabled Quick Cover case for the G5 as well. Now two more features of the upcoming LG G5 have been confirmed.
Chipmaker Qualcomm have confirmed that LG G5 will be powered by its latest high-end Snapdragon 820 SoC. The news was confirmed on twitter as the chipmaker tweeted "Don't miss a whole new way to play with LG and Snapdragon 820-coming February 21,"
The Snapdragon 820 processor uses custom 64-bit CPU architecture in ARMv8-based Qualcomm Kyro CPU and is based on FinFET process. It packs Adreno 530 GPU, X12 LTE modem, SafeSwith kill switch solution, Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and more features.
Meanwhile LG announced that it has teamed up with premium audio maker B&O PLAY, a subsidary of Bang & Olufsen to deliver an enhanced high-quality audio experience for the LG G5. This also makes LG, the first company to offer Hi-Fi audio features co-designed by B&O Play.
LG also said that it plans to continue its collaboration with B&O Play to deliver enhanced smartphone audio experience for its future products.
