LG will announce two flagship devices this year. One of them is the G5, which the company has confirmed will be announced on February 21. Ahead of the announcement, the South Korean tech giant has revealed one of the LG G5 feature, an "Always On" display mode
LG shared a GIF with a caption that reads "Never go asleep while others do". The GIF shows several smartphone growing dark, and then the G5 appears with the time and date of LG's press conference at MWC 2016. It also shows notification for call, mails, calendars and tweets and finally the "Always On" and LG G5 logo appears on either sides of the GIF.
With "Always On" display mode, users will be able to see incoming notifications like missed call, messages or email) without having to turn on their screen on their smartphone. This type of feature is already seen in Motorola smartphones (called Active Display), Microsoft's Lumia handsets (Glance Screen) and on Google's latest Nexus devices (called Ambient Display).
