Samsung is reportedly working on an enhanced version of Galaxy A9, the Galaxy A9 Pro with model number SM-A9100. Now, a device with the same model number has popped up at GFXBench database, confirming the existence of the it and revealing the possible innards.
According to the benchmark result, the Galaxy A9 Pro, comes with a smaller display, more RAM and gets a rear camera upgrade as compared to Galaxy A9. As per the listing, the Galaxy A9 Pro carries the model number AM-A9100 and comes with a smaller 5.5-inch 1080p display as compared to the Galaxy A9 2016, which had 6-inch 1080p display.
Under the hood there is 1.8GHz octa-core CPU with Cortex-A72 core inside a Qualcomm chip, which is the Snapdragon 652 SoC with Adreno 510 GPU, 4GB RAM (Galaxy A9 2016 had 3GB) and 32GB internal storage. The unit being tested runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
For photography there is 16-megapixel (Galaxy A9 2016 had 13MP) auto-focus camera on the back with LED flash and can record 1080p videos. Front facing camera is 8-megapixel. Other features listed include WiFi, NFC (Near Flield Communication), GPS, accelerometer, barometer, compass, light sensor, pedometer and proximity sensor.
That's all the details revealed by the benchmark result. As of now, there is no word when Samsung plans to release the Galaxy A9 Pro.
