WILL SMITH has admitted he had no idea his wife Jada had made the controversial clip about the Oscars race row - even though the video went viral.
Will Smith had 'no idea' Jada had made the video
Speaking in an interview on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw, the Hollywood actor admitted he wished his wife had given him a "heads up" on the clip, which sees her commenting on the un-diverse Academy Award acting nominations.
The 47-year-old explained: "I was out of the country when she made the video, I was in Thailand. I [got] off the plane and the paparazzi were like: 'Will, Will you're not going to the Oscars? What do you think of Jada's video?' I had no idea. No idea."
The former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star confessed he had to "google" the video to find out what all the fuss was about.
He revealed: "[I was] like babe, you've got to give a fella a little heads up, you know. Just a little something..

"I got in the car and googled and watched the video. I was like 'honey is there anything you need to tell me?' She says: 'I didn't want to bother you on vacation,' [and I'm like] um you did."
Despite the initial shock of finding out about the whole thing, the father-of-two said he 'admired' his wife for speaking out about the issue.
He said: "I looked at it and I really admire [her]. She's one of those people who will not, and can not hold her tongue."
Will also insisted the issue is much wider than just the Oscar nominations.
The Independence Day star went on: "The important thing is to add is for people to understand the spirt of what i'm saying. This is not a civil rights issue, this is not black and white, this is a diversity [issue]."
He added: "This is an issue of a really regressive trend, not just in Hollywood but in my country. It's not about me or being nominated."
Will Smith's full interview will air on The Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw this morning between 6:30-10:30am
