3 Good Android Digital Storytelling Apps for Elementary Students

March 11, 2016
After posting about iPad storytelling apps for kids, we received a few requests to post a similar list for Android users.  Below are three of our favourite titles we recommend in this regard. The apps are ideal for class integration and students will definitely enjoy working on them. Check them out and share with your colleagues. Enjoy

1- Book Creator

This is definitely one of the best book creating and story telling app out there. We have been continuously recommending it for teachers over the last few years. Book Creator provides students with an intuitive platform where they can create their personalized ebooks to share with others. Some of its key features include: different book layouts to choose from, record and import videos to include in your ebook, use the pen tool to draw into your book, collaborate on book creation with simple import and export to Google Drive and many more.

2- Lego Friends Story Maker

Lego Friends Story Maker is a good app that kids (ages 6+) can use to unleash their creativity through digital storytelling activities that involve the creation, writing, and publishing of visually appealing multimedia stories. This free app has a kids-friendly interface and provides a set of easy tools such as drag and drop, stickers, text, emoticons, voice recording and backgrounds that make every story come alive.

3- Pic Collage

'Join over 100 million people who use PicCollage to combine photos, Youtube videos, funky fonts, sassy stickers and cute cutouts to create the prettiest collages you'll ever see on a mobile device. We have stickers from Sanrio and LA-based independent designer, Sara M. Lyons. When you're done, you can print your collages and photos as high-quality phone cases, posters, magnets and photo print-outs as gifts for yourself or your loved ones!'
