Sony Mobiles has started rolling out Android 6.0 Marshmallow to the entire Xperia Z5 lineup globally, which includes Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 Premium. This update recently hit the Japanese Xperia Z5 line up NTT DoCoMo's units. The firmware version is 32.1.A.1.163.
The update of brings with it many enhancements to Xperia Z5 line up, mostly Marshmallow features like Doze, Google Now on Tap, App Permissions and more. The update also includes February 2016 security patches from Google.
Sony has not included the STAMINA model in this update, but is expected to feature in a later firmware update, and has also ditched Adaptable Storage function that combines phone and microSD card storage memory.
In addition, the Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z4 tablet (WiFi and LTE model) is also getting the Android 6,0 Marshmallow update as well. The firmware version is same as the Xperia Z5 lineup, 32.1.A.1.16 and so are the features. Currently the Xperia Z3+ Single SIM variant is getting the update, and for the dual SIM variant, the update shall be out soon.
