HERE has announced that its mapping and navigation app Here Maps, will be pulled from the Windows 10 Store later this month. The company also said that it is dropping support for its Windows Phone app as well.
The company said that it will pull the app from Windows 10 store on March 29,2016, and will be completely disable after June 30, 2016. Here recommends Windows 10 users to use Microsoft's Windows maps app for maps, routes and navigation as it contains many Here Maps feature.
Note that, Here apps for Windows Phone 8 will continue to work, however, the company will not release any new features or improvements to the app, and will limit to critical bug fixes.
On dropping the support for Windows 10 platform, HERE said that, offering there apps on Windows 10, would require them to develop the app from the scratch, something that is not feasible for them.
The move comes from HERE, as it is focusing on bringng new feature to the Here Maps app on Android and iOS.
