Remix OS 2.0 Beta for PC now available for download

Jide's Remix OS 2.0 for PCs is a custom version of Android designed to make Google’s mobile OS behave like a desktop OS. Last month Jide released the Alpha version of Remix OS 2.0 and now the Android based OS has entered beta stage.  

The Remix OS 2.0 Beta for PC can be download from Jide website. The beta version has 64-bit as well as 32-bit system support for older PCs and can now be installed on Hard Disk. Previously you had to boot the Remix OS from a USB flash drive.

The beta version supports dual boot, UEFI, and over the air (OTA) update. It also brings bug fixes and increase in device compatibility.

Just like the Aplha version, the beta version does not include Google Play services, instead you'll have to download the GMSActivator APK and side load it to install Google services. (GMSActivator Download Link)

Installing Remix OS 2.0 for PC
For Hard Disk installation (installation tool supports Windows 7/8/10, min. storage capacity 8GB)

1. Download the Remix OS for PC package, which contains the Remix OS for PC ROM & Installation Tool.
2. Open the Remix OS Installation Tool and follow the instructions (from the text file included in the folder) to install Remix OS for PC on your hard disk.
3. Reboot your PC.
• NOTE for UEFI boot: press special key (F12 for Dell, F9 for HP, F12 for Lenovo, Option Key for MAC) while booting to enter boot menu and ensure that Secure Boot is disabled.
4. Select Remix OS in Windows Boot Menu.

For USB Flash Drive Installation (Recomended USB 3.0 flash drive with 8GB or up capacity/ writing speed of 20MB/s

1. Please backup the data in your USB flash drive before you start the installation, as all the data will be earased
2. Download the Remix OS for PC package, which contains the Remix OS for PC ROM & Installation Tool.
3. Insert USB flash drive into your PC.
4. Open the Remix OS Installation Tool and follow the instructions (from the text file included in the folder) to install Remix OS for PC on your USB flash drive.
5. Reboot your PC.
6. Press special key (F12 for Dell, F9 for HP, F12 for Lenovo, Option Key for MAC) while booting and enter Boot Menu.
• NOTE for UEFI boot: please ensure that Secure Boot is disabled.
• Select "USB Storage Device" under boot option.
• Select either "Guest Mode" or "Resident Mode" to start Remix OS.
