While iPad has a huge learning potential but it can also be a major source of distraction for our kids. Educating our kids on the appropriate use of the web and teaching them about digital citizenship are two important things you should address before you give your kids an internet-enabled device. Along with this, you can use parental control measures to monitor your kids Internet activity and schedule access to their devices. Besides Guided Access we covered in a previous post, today we are sharing with you two excellent monitoring apps you can use on your iPad to control whatever your kids do on their iOS devices.
1- ParentKit
ParentKit is an excellent monitoring app for parents. It allows you to remotely control your child’s access to Internet. You can also use it to schedule your kids’ usage of Safari, purchased apps, media and many more. You can do all of this from your own device and you can even control several devices at once. The process to use ParentKit is very simple: First install the app on your iPad and then ‘set up profiles for any children's devices that you wish to manage.Once a ParentKit profile is installed on a child’s iPhone, iPod, or iPad, parents can set up a schedule of their child’s access to Safari, purchased apps, and media, on every device ParentKit is enabled on. Each device can be scheduled and controlled separately, all from the parent’s “remote” device.’
2- Qustodio Parental Control
Custodio is a good iPad app that allows you to monitor your kids web activity on any iOS device. You simply install the app on your kids device and ‘ you ll get free web filtering across all browsers’. You can monitor your kids Internet activity from any Internet-enabled device.
