For providing the contents on the service, Viu has teamed up with production houses and content owners including Reliance Big Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., Sony Music, Zee Digital Convergence, Tips Industries Ltd., Balaji Motion Pictures, Rajshri Entertainment, Unisys Infosolutions, Shemaroo, Anand Audio, and BBC Worldwide.
Currently, the service hosts a variety of English and Hindi TV shows, movies and music.
The OTT platform follows a free-mium model, where some contents are provided free, while Customers will have to pay Rs. 99 per month to subscribe for an ad-free service and to get access to additional premium contents.
Viu has teamed up with FreeCharge for the wallet service that will offer a free one-month trail subscription as well as cash back deal for premium subscribers. It has also partnered with eBay to offer various packages and bundles related to Viu. However, it’s not know exactly what kind of packages will be offered.
The service is available over the web- www.viu.com, and as an Android app, and the company also has an iOS app, which will be launched in India soon.
