Xiaomi last month finally launched its flagships, the Mi 5 and Mi 5 Pro. Now it appears like Xiaomi has started work on the Mi Note successor, the Mi Note 2, and is rumored to sport dual curved display, just like the Samsung's Galaxy edge series.
According to a report by GizmoChina, Xiaomi will use Samsung's cuved AMOLED displays on the Note 2, similar to the vivo Xplay 5 Elite. ZDNet backs the report, and adds that Xiaomi and Huawei have requested curved display samples from Samsung Display, which the Chinese smartphone makers are likely to use on their upcoming phones for this year.
Chinese smartphone makers are taking interest in Samsung's curved display due to the positive reception of the Galaxy edge series from critics and consumers.
Huawei is rumored to release four variants of P9, one of them is a premium model, maybe this one might have a dual edge display. Huawei is expected to launch the P9 series on April 9.
The report also says that Xiaomi won't be launcing the Mi Note 2 anytime soon, as it wants to maximize sales of the Mi 5 and Mi 5 Pro.
