Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 with Snapdragon 650 SoC launched in India, prices start at Rs. 9,999


Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 3 at an event in New Delhi, India. This phone that was already launched in China in November last year, and has been highly-awaited in the country for some time now. Hugo Barra at the launch event said that the Redmi Note 3 is the third Xiaomi smartphone to be ‘Made In India’ after the Redmi 2 Prime and the Redmi Note Prime.

The Redmi Note 3 has a premium full metal body design, a fingerprint sensor on the back that can unlock the phone in 0.3 seconds, and runs the Android Lollipop-based MIUI 7.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display and is powered by hexa-core Snapdragon 650 (4x 1.2GHz ARM A53 + 2 x 1.8 GHz ARM A72) 64-bit processor with Adreno 510 GPU. It comes in two variants - 2GB RAM w/ 16GB storage and 3GB RAM w/ 32GB storage. The storage can be expanded via microSD card.

For photography the Redmi Note 3 is equipped with 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2/.0 aperture, PDAF and 1080p video recording capabilities. For snapping selfies you get a 5-megapixel front snapper with f/2.0 aperture and 1080p video recording capabilities.

The Redmi Note 3 comes with Hybrid dual SIM slot, Infrared sensor and supports 4G LTE with VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac/b/g/n (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS+GLONASS. It is fueled by 4050mAh with fast charging support, that lets you charge the battery up to 50% in just 1 hour.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 comes in Dark Grey, Silver and Champagne Gold color options. The 2GB RAM w/ 16GB storage model is priced at Rs. 9,999, while the 3GB RAM w/ 32GB storage model costs Rs. 11,999. The Redmi Note 3 will be available starting March 9 on Mi.com and Amazaon India via flash sales (2pm). Later it will be available from Flipkart and Snapdeal, and also offline stores as well.
