Below is a collection of some very good websites you can use to search for copyright-friendly photos to use in class with students. Some of the photos provided there are under Creative Commons Zero (CC0) giving you much more freedom to use them for a variety of purposes. Have a look and share with your students.
1- Photos for Class
‘Photos for Class provides you with an easy to use search engine to find and access images that are appropriate for school setting.All images downloaded from Photos for Class come with a short citation that includes the author’s name and the image license terms.’
2- Pexels
Pixels offers over 10,000 free stock photos licensed under the Creative Commons Zero (CCO). This means that you can modify, copy and distribute the photos the way you want. ‘All photos are hand-picked from photos uploaded by users or sourced from free image websites’.
3- Pixabay
Pixabay provides 610,000 stock photos, vectors and art illustrations.’All images and videos on Pixabay are released free of copyrights under Creative Commons CC0. You may download, modify, distribute, and use them royalty free for anything you like, even in commercial applications. Attribution is not required’
