OS X being rebranded as MacOS? Apple drops another hint

Is Apple re-branding OS X as MacOS? Well, it definitely seems so. Last month, MacOS was spotted in the name of an OS X framework file, and now the Cupertino-based company has dropped another hint at the possible change.

Recently, in a web-page - describing the company's efforts for the Earth Day 2016 - on its official website, Apple mentioned the new name for a brief period, before reverting it back to OS X. Here's is the paragraph in question:

"To model customer use, we measure the power consumed by a product while it is running in a simulated scenario. Daily usage patterns are specific to each product and are a mixture of actual and modeled customer use data. Years of use, which are based on first owners, are assumed to be four years for MacOS and tvOS devices and three years for iOS and watchOS devices. More information on our product energy use is provided in our Product Environmental Reports."

To recall, the name OS X was opted by Apple way back in 2001. The operating system was the successor to Mac OS 9, which was released in the year 1999.
