I really would like to enjoy my gaming sessions at night so having a good headset is an absolute must so that I don't disturb my family members during their bedtime. But this particular headset from TTEsports just begs to be brought along to LAN Parties and shown off to other fellow gamers.
This TTEsports Level 10 M Gaming Headset is provided by AV Future Link Sdn Bhd (many thanks) and retails for RM349 in the Malaysian market. Yes this is another one of Thermaltake and BMW collaboration designed gaming product and if you've read my TTEsports Level 10 M Gaming Mouse review, you could guess that this is going to look stellar on your head.. or ears... whatever.

Packaging
Once again the red box will have the corresponding product in red and yes it does come in several colours as well so that you can have matching colour schemes for your RIG. The front of the box depicts the majority of the actual headset with the branding and name right beside it. Some features of the headset is also highlighted at the bottom right albeit with microscopic texts as description.
The back of the box details the mission and features of the headset and you could also learn how to write "Please visit mheadset.ttesports.com for more information" in a multitude of languages.
The cover slides off to reveal a tastefully done red box.
The front flap is held on magnetically that reveals the accessory box and the Level 10 M Headset packed in a moulded plastic shell.
Emptying the box, you'll find some accessories bundled. A warranty booklet a carrying pouch and two separate detachable cables for mobile and desktop gaming.
The shorter, 4-pole cable for mobile gaming is a simple one but it is braided and has gold plated connectors. It is also really flexible so it's well suited for mobility.
The longer and more elaborate cable is meant for the PC with separate jacks for the audio and microphone. there is also an in-line controller for the volume and microphone mute switch. Note that both sides of the controller, glossy and chrome attracts fingerprints. And just in case you're wondering, the dragon doesn't light up.
The Level 10 M Gaming Headset
I have to admit that this headset looks very nice indeed. There is not a lot of flex from this headset and the weight is not too heavy even with the aluminium pieces on the headband.
The microphone tilts down and can be swivelled closer to the corner of my mouth. It is not removable but it blends in quite well with the headset's overall design. Just take care to swing it back straight before tucking it away as doing so before that will poke your eyes.
There are 8 levels of extension to the headband.
Thermaltake implemented a metal insert for extra support and they did so nicely colouring the metal band black.
From the sides, you can see the overall clean design and the TTEsports logo right in the middle of the swivel piece. Although glossy, I'm quite surprised that fingerprints doesn't really stick onto the surface, much unlike the in-line controller.
Up at the top of the headband, you'll see the TTEsports logo. It is sort of wide and well cushioned for the user's comfort.
The cushion is rather thick and soft as well so no issues on the comfort level.
From this angle, you can see that there are actually two connectors for the detachable audio cables. this gives the user flexibility to have the cable on either side based on their preference.
In terms of flexibility, the earpieces does tilt and swivel to accommodate various headshapes. It's also spring loaded so that it will snap back into the default position.
Thermaltake also took the liberty of placing a small rubber dampener so that the earpieces doesn't get scratched against the aluminium pieces on the headband.
The cushions are also easily removable giving you the option to swap them with another or when you want to clean them.
Testing
Wearing the Level 10 M Gaming Headset, it is quite comfortable thanks to the soft cushions on the earpieces and headband though after some time, I find that the clamping force is a little tight for my liking but maybe it's because that the headset is a new unit. The circumference of the earpieces is kind of tight so if you have big ears this might not be so comfy and yes it does get a little warm around the ears after some time. The braided cable is very flexible and stayed tangle-free during testing but the use of a non-standard 3.5mm connector on the headset's means that replacements are hard to come by should you require them. Glad that they included the shorter, 4-pole, mobile cable but I do wish that the microphone is removable as it felt awkward going out and about (even though it has noise-cancelling feature and sounds great to the recipient).
In terms of sound quality, the Level 10 M Gaming Headset performs like how most gaming headsets does. Gaming is the main forte for this headset, delivering explosions, gunfire and sound effects adequately while speech and BGM seems a little muffled albeit the absence of distortions even at high volume levels. Needless to say that the experience is not too good for Movies and Music with the overall sound lacking the clarity for speech and vocals alike.
Pros:
Cons:
Pros:
- Great aesthetic appearance
- Quality Braided cables
- Inclusion of travelling pouch and mobile cable
Cons:
- Non-removable microphone
- Glossy in-line controller (fingerprint magnet)
Conclusion
If you're an avid gamer and goes to LAN parties or competition a lot, this headset will gain you the extra "head-turning" effect as this seriously a great looking headset. Positional sounds, explosions and gunfire effects are great so it does what it it intended to for: gaming. You might wanna grab another different headset for movies and music though. This overall scored a Tech-Critter Bronze in my books.
