The Apple Watch shares a similar translucent effect on elements like in iOS 7 and iOS 8 on iPhone's and iPad's. But unlike on the iPhone, by switching off transparency on Apple Watch, you could actually make the screen look even better due to the black backgrounds and boarder of the Apple Watch display. With the translucency off, colors really pop!
