As VGL 2015 Malaysia celebrates the music and fashion of a new era in video entertainment, and brings costume play creativity to a greater height, cosplay enthusiasts from eleven countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, Thailand, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Philippines, South Korea and Japan, are invited to participate in this regional cosplay competition and showcase their fashion, attitude and art skills by dressing up as their alter egos to the likes of their favorite video game characters such as League of Legends, Resident Evil, Assassin’s Creed, Final Fantasy, Zelda and many more.
Participants are required to register on the contest microsite at www.11pass11.com and submit pictures of themselves donning their unique cosplay costumes. The submissions will be judged by the organiser’s panel of judges as forty finalists are selected for the first selection round.

“The cosplay phenomenon is fast becoming a mainstream culture, and the crowd gets bigger every year, all around the world. And even though our local cosplay scene is still mostly viewed as a niche hobby, Malaysians are starting to hop on the bandwagon and the cosplay scene continues to thrive. Which is why we are super excited to bring this amazing regional cosplay competition, not only to the cosplay enthusiasts, but also to the music and gaming community,” said Leslie Jeyam, Director of 11To11 Events at the press conference.

“The whole idea of costume play or cosplay, is that it serves as a creative outlet – it is not merely costuming, but a very unique form of performance art. It is most widely associated with comic books, anime and video games. It has become such a massive subculture within the mainstream world at this point that is essentially synonymous with the idea of a convention or a gathering of individuals who share the same cosplay interest. And that’s what VGL is all about – the celebration of the world of gaming and music.”
