My first time over at Grand Harbour Chinese Restaurant in Fahrenheit 88, and it was to sample their mooncakes. On top of getting to try out their delectable mooncake offerings, we also sampled their dishes, which were pretty good. Check out what we had that evening below.

Shown in the opening picture above would be one of the highlights of our meal that evening. Served in a rather huge 'basket', the Fried Glutinous Rice with Crab served by Grand Harbour does look enticing, with generous amounts of crab meat thrown into the mix. Love how the glutinous rice isn't too sticky, but moist enough to give that unmistakably yummy texture. It's rather unfortunate I missed out snapping a shot of the prices, but I'll be editing this post with the prices once I get it.
Double Steamed 'Tian Ma' Fish Head Soup |
A departure from your usual chicken soup offerings, we had fish soup instead, which came in the form of Grand Harbour's Double Steamed 'Tian Ma' Fish Head Soup. Lots of herbs inside, which gave that very savoury, fragrant flavour to the soup. It's rather heavy on the taste though, but I do like the pieces of fried fish meat inside.
Fried Yee Mee with Assorted Mushrooms and Truffle Oil |
When the Fried Yee Mee with Assorted Mushrooms and Truffle Oil was served, it definitely didn't look as good as it tasted. In fact, one taste of this noodle dish, and I was hooked. The mix of assorted mushrooms, doused with some truffle oil, made this one very tasty dish. The noodles itself wasn't too wet nor dry, just the way I like it.
Stir Fried Bittergourd |
Stir fried Kai Lan Vegetables |
Nothing much to shout about, just some vegetables to complete your balanced diet. Every meal should have a fair amount of vegetables inside. I'm not a fan of the bitter gourd, but I did try a few mouthfuls, and safe to say it did not taste as bitter as I would expect it to be. Still bitter though, hence I had more of the Stir Fried Kai Lan instead.
Stewed Kampung Chicken with Chinese Wine |
My favourite dish for the evening would be their Stewed Kampung Chicken with Chinese Wine. The moment it was served I could already smell the goodness. Cooked and served in a claypot, the chicken thigh used were stewed to perfection, and went really well with the sauces with a hint of chinese wine. This goes exceptionally well with rice.
Barbecued Pork (Char Siu) with steamed Kampung Chicken |
Up next, a meaty dish, consisting of Barbecued Pork (Char Siu) with steamed Kampung Chicken on a plate. I like how Grand Harbour uses kampung chicken, the supposedly less fatty, healthier chicken. The Barbecued Char Siu Pork was done perfectly, with that sweet caramelised crispy outer coating.
Chilled Mango Coconut Parfait |
Chilled Mango Sago with Pomelo |
We ended our meal over at Grand Harbour Chinese Restaurant @ Fahrenheit 88 with a sweet note. The desserts Chilled Mango Coconut Parfait and Chilled Mango Sago with Pomelo was a good end to a filling dinner. Do try them out the next time you're out shopping at Bukit Bintang area.
