Twitter adds quick reply from push notifications and more in latest update

A Twitter update last week was supposed to make the mobile iPhone and iPad app play nice with iOS 9’s new text-based replies that are now available to third-party apps directly from notification banners, except it didn’t.

With the update, which was released on September 22 and is available now, it pushes the app up to version 6.37. It’s a relatively small update, but there are noteworthy additions with the new software. That includes support for quick reply from push notifications, which should make replying to tweets even easier when you want to. The update also includes the ability to access blocked and muted accounts from Settings.

The rest of the update is tuned towards videos in one way or another, including videos in tweet details will autoplay now, the same way that they do within the Timeline. And, while in someone’s Twitter profile, users will have access to a tweet’s text during full-screen video playback.

Twitter 6.37 changelog
Starting today, Twitter users on iOS 9 can expect the following when they update to version 6.37:
  • The ability to access muted and blocked accounts in Settings
  • Full support for the quick reply from push notifications
