iPhone 7 could get a retractable screen protector

Apple is working behind closed doors on an extendable screen protector for the iPhone. It is still unclear whether the technique could be used on the iPhone. 7 First pictures of a patent application, however, show how the protection mechanism to work.

It is still unclear what exactly Apple for the iPhone 7 plans that should appear in the next year. Perhaps a newly surfaced patent are, however, information about which features the manufacturer is planning for the next generation of its smartphone. Submitted by the patent with the name "Active Screen Protection" was apparently already in the past year to the competent authority in the United States. As the name implies, it will apparently be a device that protects the screen of the iPhone when dropped.

Mini-brackets protect the screen when dropped
On numerous pictures of the patent application is to be seen exactly how the screen should be protected with the new technology. Are doing little brackets that once with the help of a mini-motor and are extended on all four corners of the display. In the extended state, this should ensure that the smartphone itself screen, not touching the ground. About motion sensors to the smartphone are able to recognize its own, when it is dropped, and the clamps automatically extend.

If the screen protector with the iPhone 7?
Since the patent itself has been notified to the competent authority in 2014, is not yet clear how far Apple has come internally in the development of technology. As a rule, however, it takes quite a few years before such a complex technique actually finds its way into a finished product. Whether this product is perhaps the iPhone 7, is expected to show the latest in the coming year.
