When Sony is apparently already thinking aloud about a new version of PS4 with more power. The x86 processor architecture, which Sony has adopted from the PC to make a further theoretically possible.
Just days ago, Sony had the price of the PlayStation 4 officially lowered also in Germany. If the price cut this part of a larger plan? Perhaps because one thinks internally at Sony apparently quite according to a new, improved version of the PS4. The corresponding information comes from an interview by Masayasu Ito, the Senor Vice President of Sony Computer Entertainment, the Japanese magazine 4Gamers.
Processor architecture makes upgrading theoretically possible
Thanks to the x86 processor architecture of the PS4 that is similar to that of the PC, it is relatively easy to screw on the performance of the console. It would be conceivable even to offer multiple versions of the PlayStation 4 with different capacities. Unclear remains whether the manufacturer here actually think about a new console or through the ability to upgrade already sold PS4 versions later.
4K and Virtual Reality as new challenges
Would make sense as an upgrade undoubtedly. After all, the PlayStation 4 is only available almost two years and already sees himself now with numerous new technologies confronted. So the console is not yet capable of outputting 4K signals to the TV. Also new trends such as virtual reality and the general developments in the gaming sector could make it in the future necessary to increase the performance of the consoles on.
