To open up multitasking (a.k.a. the App Switcher) on a new Apple TV, double click the Home button. The Home button is the button with a TV icon on it. To close an app from the multitasking menu, swipe up on the Siri Remote's touch surface. Press the Home button again to return to the Home screen. I hope this helps!
