Pay with iPhone: peer-to-peer system for Apple Pay planned

Apple apparently wants to expand its mobile payment system to pay Apple an interesting feature. With a peer-to-peer function money could be transferred directly via iPhone to friends in the future.

Apple reportedly negotiated with just US banks on a new payment system, which would like the Venmo platform PayPal allow direct money transfers to any other person. That is to have the Wall Street Journal out in background discussions. However, the plans should be located still in very early stages. Unclear whether, inter alia, the question of how this peer-to-peer system (P2P) could be integrated into the existing infrastructure of the banks. It also remains open whether Apple wants to make this function of money or wants to offer it free to move even more users to switch over to the iPhone.

Mobile payment is not yet widespread in Europe
If the Group were to actually integrate the P2P feature in Apple Pay, he came very late in the market. Platforms like Venmo, Square or Google Wallet offer similar functionality already for some time and are becoming increasingly popular, at least in the US. There P2P transfers, especially for small transactions such as the joint purchase of a gift or paying a restaurant bill can be used.

In Germany, however - traditionally a country with low credit card penetration - infected mobile payment still in its infancy. While Apple Pay was working in the US since October 2014 and launched in July 2015, in Great Britain, Germany is still no release date determined.
