Teardown: This is in the battery case for the iPhone 6s

After the presentation of the official Battery Case for iPhone 6s few days ago was the mockery of the "hump case" large. But what really lies actually in the elastomeric housing?

After the somewhat surprising unveiling of the official Battery Case for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6 mid-week, the comments focused mainly on the design and appearance. Even Apple CEO Tim Cook looked then compelled to defend the look of the accessories. Now the site iFixit has examined what really lies under the elastomer skin of Smart Battery Case. For their craft, the teardown experts the iPhone case, however, had to destroy - re assembling or even repairing a broken Smart Battery Case is not possible therefore.

Many surprises hidden in the battery case
A first conclusion is very early in the iFixit teardown possible: In the Battery Case for iPhone 6s, which sells Apple for 119 Euro, in fact there is much more technology than the ugly exterior suggests. So the battery in the Smart Battery Case is protected by an additional small metal plate, while a special fabric is incorporated in the upper part of the silicone sleeve, which apparently is intended to prevent fatigue damage by constantly bending.

Inside the Smart Battery Case finally comes the very permanently installed battery to light. According to iFixit it has a capacity of 1877 mAh and thus even more than the iPhone itself 6s that comes only 1715 mAh. The battery life of the iPhone 6s should therefore doubled by the battery case at least - although there are of course numerous to buy alternative, provide in some cases significantly more battery power.
