Microsoft is not making waves in the smartphone market, however it looks like the company wants its presence felt in in the competitor's mobile ecosystem and rival platforms. The Redmond giant has entered into a partnership with Acer to bring Microsoft's mobile productivity services on Acer's smartphones and tablets starting H2 2016.
Acer will pre-load Microsoft's productivity apps incluing Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, OneDrive and skype on select Android smartphone and tablets.
That's not all, Microsoft also revealed that nearly 74 hardware manufacturers including Sony, Samsung and LG and more are currently pre-installing its apps and service on their Android devices.
According to Microsoft's blog post “By pre-installing Microsoft software and services on Android tablets and phones, our partners are able to increase the value of those devices by delivering the rich productivity experiences customers want. In addition, partners will be able to take advantage of opportunities to realize new revenue streams.” said Microsoft.
