MANCHESTER UNITED assistant manager Ryan Giggs was not in attendance as his side beat Stoke 3-0 last night.
The Red Devils rediscovered their goalscoring touch at Old Trafford, with Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney all scoring in a convincing victory.
But Giggs did not take his normal position alongside manager Louis van Gaal as United made up for their disappointing defeat to Southampton last time at home
The Welshman, who is tipped to one day take charge at United, missed out due to a family illness and was granted leave by Van Gaal.
Despite the 42-year-old's absence, United produced one of their best performances of the season
Ryan Giggs was not in his usual spot next to Louis van Gaa
Van Gaal's side ended their run of 12 games without a goal in the first-half at Old Trafford, with Lingard and Martial both netting in the opening period.
And captain Rooney tapped-in shortly after the break to seal all three points for the hosts as Stoke suffered a third loss in their last four games.
