Chinese smartphone maker Vivo, known for its slim smartphones is about to launch its next flagship called XPlay 5 on March 1. The main highlight of the XPlay 5 will be its 6GB RAM, making it the first smartphone in the world to pack such a memory.
The inclusion of 6GB RAM, should not be a surprise as Samsung is already producing 6GB LPDDR4 RAM for smartphone and tablets. It went into production in September last year.
The other highlight of the XPlay 5 is that it will be powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 820 SoC, which is already being utilized by Samsung's Galaxy S7/S7 edge, LG G5, LeEco Le Max Pro, HP Elite x3 and will also be used in Xiaomi's flagship Mi 5 as well. However, none of these smartphones have 6GB RAM. Currently most of the flagship pack 4GB RAM.
Meanwhile, a render of the Xplay 5 has also surfaced, that shows it sporting a metal body and a dual-curved edge display. Vivo has already confirmed that the Xplay 5 will sports dual-curved edge display and Hi-Fi 3.0 audio. According to rumors, it it is expected to come with 6-inch QHD display, 16MP rear camera, 8MP front camera and a 4300mAh battery.
