Samsung has launched the T3, palm-sized external solid state drive (SSD) in India. Initially introduced at CES 2016, the T3 has USB 3.1 Type-C support, and is compatible with a range of USB supported devices, including the latest Android smartphones and tablets, and computers with Windows or Mac OS.
The T3 SSD comes in four storage variants - 250GB, 500GB, 1TB and 2TB, and comes with AES 256-bit hardware encryption. It offers read/write speeds of up to 450MB/sec, with a USB 3.0 super interface.
The SSD sports a metal body with a shock-resistant internal frame and offers thermal guard, to prevent overheating. The company says that the T3 will continue to function even after being dropped from up to six feet.
The SSD is aimed at professionals, who want to keep their data safe and secure. The Samsung T3 SSD 250 GB, 500GB, 1TB and 2TB are priced at Rs. 10,999, Rs. 18,999, Rs. 37,999 and Rs. 74,999 respectively, and will be available across channels starting March 21. They come with a three year warranty.
