3 Wonderful iPad Apps to Develop Kids Spatial Reasoning

Spatial reasoning is an essential skill for a well-balanced cognitive development for kids. It involves a complex thinking process through which kids get to investigate, problem solve, and explore the world in three dimensional way. According to the National Research Council (2006), ‘Spatial thinking is powerful. It solves problems by managing, transforming, and analyzing data, especially complex and large data sets, and by communicating the results of those processes to one’s self and to others’. In today’s post we are sharing with you three important Game apps that specifically target this skill. Playing these games, students and young learners will get to develop their spatial reasoning and enhance their thinking processes.

1- Pictorial


This is one of the most popular games in this category. Pictorial engages learners in a variety of activities involving spatial reasoning including for instance : recognizing the hidden pictures in a sky night full of starts, solving the mystery of the pirate’s map, or discovering the story behind the dance o snowflakes on the arctic blizzard.
