Google Sheets add-ons provide you with a number of key functionalities that are not actually available on Sheets. As a teacher, you can use these add-ons to facilitate your workflow and enhance your productivity. Our Sheets section here in EdTech and mLearning features some very good examples of extensions to use in your teaching. Today, we are highlighting two more Sheets add-ons to add to your toolkit. The first one allows you to easily generate QR codes from spreadsheets you create via Google Sheets and the second is for converting spreadsheets to Google documents. Enjoy
1- QR Code Generator
This is a wonderful Google Sheets add-on to use for a variety of educational purposes. It allows you to easily generate QR codes from values in Spreadsheets. Based on the values of your Spreadsheet, you can generate multiple QR codes. All of these codes are saved in a Google document or as an image file (PNG) in your Drive. Watch the video below to learn more about this add-on:
2- Save As Doc
Save As Doc is another excellent Sheets add-on that lets you convert any spreadsheet you create through Google Sheets into a Google document. This is especially good for improving ‘legibility of lengthy cell text entered manually or through Google Form submission’. This is how it works:
- ‘Choose "Save As Doc > Start."
- Select the cells to include or choose "Select all data".
- Enter a file output name.
- Modify the output settings in the sidebar.
- Choose Save as Doc.’
