Top TED Ed Lessons on Critical Thinking

Critical thinking, as we have argued elsewhere, is  an essential skill for the 21st century students. Not that it was not essential before but  in a digitally focused world where there is an exceeding surplus of amateurish and unpolished information, the ability to critically assess, weigh in and value information has an imminent urgency. Through critical thinking, learners get to sift through the ocean of information provided by the net and are able to decide what is relevant and what is not.


 In today’s post, we are sharing with you this handy curated list of some of the best TED Ed lessons to use with your students to help them develop critical thinking skills. Yes, critical thinking is a 'plural-skill' and embeds a number of different sub-skills such as synthesizing, assessing, analyzing, applying and evaluating. Each of these TED Ed lessons target a particular sub-skill. And for those of you who have not seen it yet, the TED Ed video below provides a very good short introduction to what critical thinking is all about and suggests 5 tips to improve it. Enjoy
