Apple working on new, truly wireless Beats with a charging case for iPhone 7 launch

Apple is reportedly building brand new, completely wireless earphones that will fit inside of a user’s ear, along with a charging case, as per 9to5Mac.

According to information gathered by the publication, it looks like Apple is currently working on building revamped, cord-free Beats earbuds that would launch alongside the release of the oft-rumored iPhone 7. These would be completely wireless — without a cable connecting the in-ear headphones. They would be designed like the Bragi Dash (pictured below), headphones that were once again present at this year’s International Consumer Electronics Show.

The report goes on to say that the wireless headphones will have a noise-canceling microphone system in place, which will make it possible to use them for phone calls and interacting with Siri. Different earbud sleeves will more than likely be included with the headphones as well, making it possible to find the right size (or get really close to it) for an individual’s ear.
The design cals for a pair of wireless chips and separate batteries, meaning a “sub-4-hour battery life without use of the case would be expected.”

Additionally, Apple is said to provide different-sized ear sleeves for the tiny earphones, which are “highly likely” to be sold separately from the iPhone 7.

These particular wireless earbuds will be an accessory, though, and won’t come standard in the iPhone 7 box. For a reference point, the Bragi Dash retail for $299, so it’s probably likely that Apple’s alternative will be priced similarly, or even higher. The iPhone 7 will be bundled with EarPods, though, but these will reportedly have a Lightning cable, rather than the standard cable we are used to finding, due to Apple’s rumored decision to drop the 3.5mm headphone jack from the next iPhone.
